Job description

About this role:

We are currently looking for our future Facility Engineer to join our Capital Development Projects team at our gigafactory in Bourbourg.

As a Facility Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, operation, maintenance, modification, construction, modernization, and protection of physical facilities and equipment (including building systems, power, water, sewer, chemical handling, piping, ventilation, lighting, space utilization, furniture, and controls) used to produce high-quality products at Verkor.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct technical project reviews and prepare written comments, analyses, and recommendations.
  2. Manage and implement all phases of new construction and renovation/upgrade projects, including planning, design, construction, and commissioning.
  3. Prepare project documents such as budgets, staffing plans, schedules, and coordination details.
  4. Modify existing equipment and systems to improve efficiency, safety, reliability, capacity, and cost-effectiveness.
  5. Design, layout, draw, and bill of materials for major maintenance, facility improvements, and other projects.
  6. Interpret regulatory codes to ensure compliance.
  7. Apply safety instructions at the workstation, wear PPE, and behave in a safe manner.
  8. Oversee structural, mechanical, electrical, utilities, environmental, and other construction and engineering drawings for the facility.
  9. Coordinate with consulting engineers, contractors, and maintenance personnel during the design and construction phases.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field.
  • Relevant experience in industrial facilities such as battery manufacturing, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Experience in utility sizing and assessments.
  • Knowledge of clean & dryroom environments.
  • Experience with high-purity chemical systems.
