Responsibilities

As a Facilities Engineer with Hines, you will be responsible for maintaining the non-technical aspects of the building, performing minor repairs, and identifying any other repairs or improvements needed. They will organize common spaces, identify areas for repair and escalate as need to the Facility Manager for support. The Facilities Coordinator will escort vendors on site to perform inspections and repairs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Respond to customer requests for facility issues or inquiries, and coordinate resolution. Ensure all issues are completed in a timely manner whether internally or by a service provider
  • Provide regular inspections to maintain serviceability and aesthetic integrity of conference facilities and equipment
  • Escort facilities contractors as needed, and ensure any overseen contractors adhere to client rules and regulations
  • Assist in stocking and keeping the following areas clean and orderly: conference rooms, copy/mail rooms, supply rooms, storage rooms
  • Perform quality assurance for work performed by vendor partners
  • Set up events and provide support while events are in progress. Communicate effectively with event coordinator and client in a deadline-driven environment
  • Support moves, including resetting or relocating furniture or equipment as directed by client
  • Order and maintain a working inventory of conference room furniture
  • Provide reporting and information to facilities team both formally and informally
  • Recognize repetitive trouble areas when experiencing repeat calls or recurring situations
  • Fabricate and install signage as directed by client
  • Perform minor non-technical repairs of the facilities, which may include:
    • Minor patch and paint
    • Furniture assembly, installation, and repair
  • As needed, coordinate disposal of damaged furniture or materials as designated by client
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Requirement include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Two or more years general events experience
  • Develop and maintain ethical, professional, and courteous relations with contractors, employees, and the client
  • Interact with client, employees, visitors, and contractors with poise and diplomacy
  • Maintain a calm demeanor in emergencies
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Possess excellent grammatical and proofreading abilities
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and customer service orientation
  • Exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions
  • Perform numerical and financial calculations
  • Analyze and interpret various types of data to draw conclusions and solve problems
  • Demonstrate advanced competence with a variety of software including Microsoft Office Software, MS Outlook, Kindle, Replicon, Remedy, InDesign, SharePoint
  • Interpret instructions in written, oral, and diagrammatic or schedule form
  • Capable of coordinating facility issues and responding from offsite via phone and email
  • Highly organized. Sets priorities and meet deadlines

  • Detect emergency alarms – auditory and/or visual
  • Meet highest attendance and punctuality requirements
  • Operate personal computer and other office equipment
  • On occasion, perform physical inspections which may require the ability to walk long distances, climb up/downstairs and/or ladders, and access restrictive openings as part of regular facility inspections and emergency procedures

  • Compensation: $61,800 - $77,300
