Job summary

A major food-grade logistics company in Henderson, Colorado is seeking a Facility Engineer responsible for the operation, maintenance, and improvement of building systems. The ideal candidate will ensure facility operations are safe and efficient and will support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and energy initiatives. Applicants should have a relevant degree and 3-7 years of experience in building engineering. The company offers competitive compensation and full benefits.

Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of experience in facility or building engineering, preferably in manufacturing or large commercial environments.
  • Certifications preferred: PE License, CFM, LEED Accreditation, OSHA or EPA certifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and performance of facility systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist in developing and managing the facility maintenance budget.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Base pay range

$112,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

The Facility Engineer at McLane Global is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of building systems, utilities, and infrastructure. This role ensures that all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations. The Facility Engineer also supports capital projects, equipment upgrades, and energy efficiency initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and performance of facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment
  • Monitor and manage building automation systems (BAS) and energy consumption
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise contractors and vendors for facility projects or repairs
  • Assist in developing and managing the facility maintenance budget
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations
  • Support capital improvement and facility expansion projects from concept to completion
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment histories
  • Identify and implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives
  • Respond to emergency facility issues and provide technical support as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
  • 3-7 years of experience in facility or building engineering, preferably in manufacturing or large commercial environments
  • Certifications (preferred): Professional Engineer (PE) License, Certified Facility Manager (CFM), LEED Accreditation, OSHA or EPA certifications
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
  • Proficient in CAD, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and MS Office
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy management systems
