Job summary

EMCOR Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to install, troubleshoot, and repair facility electrical distribution, lighting, and related systems across on-site projects. The role requires knowledge of motor controls, low voltage, fire, and data systems, with responsibilities including on-site coordination of projects, quality control, and adherence to electrical codes.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship plus 10+ years related experience or equivalent.
• Three or more years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
• Training and certified to operate a fork truck and aerial lift preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and building equipment.
• Connects power supply wire to machines and building equipment, and connects cables and wires.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, MCC panels, drives, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged wires and cables.
• Maintains electrical distribution systems within buildings and data center equipment.
• Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
• Performs preventative maintenance on all electrical utilities and equipment.
