Job Summary

We are seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time Custodian/Maintenance Worker position. This role will assist with setting up and breaking up events and performing general maintenance tasks, indoors and outdoors, based on the assigned location. Responsibilities will include daily inspections, waste management, and cleaning of bathrooms, locker rooms, kitchens, and other general areas. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, customer service, time management, and adaptability skills.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):

  • The Lodge at Hal & Berni Hanson Regional Park, Aldie, VA
  • Ashburn Recreation & Community Center, Ashburn, VA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prioritizing the health, safety, and customer satisfaction of all our external and internal customers. Assisting in answering questions and concerns.
  • Assisting with room set-up/takedown for activities and special events. Assisting with tables and chair arrangement.
  • Performing indoor and outdoor housekeeping, trash, and debris removal.
  • Operating outdoor ground maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assisting with emergency response and snow/ice removal.
  • Transporting vehicles for general purposes to designated locations.
  • Performing other essential job functions and department assignments.

* The schedule may necessitate working during the evening and/or on weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of 10th grade.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months of related work experience.
  • Previous experience in customer service and/or special events in private events center.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo criminal and DMV background checks. A valid driver's license and good driving record are required. Annual reviews of driving records may be conducted to maintain qualification standards. First Aid/CPR certifications immediately upon hire. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens training within 30 days of hire. Every year, a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation must be completed, disclosing any criminal convictions or criminal charges currently pending.
