Job summary

Flexible Metal, a Hyspan Company, is seeking a part-time Custodian in Tucker, GA. The role covers office cleaning, grounds maintenance, and light warehouse support, with a Monday-Friday schedule and pay between $18.00 and $22.00 per hour.

This position emphasizes safety, quality, and a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include sanitizing restrooms, cleaning breakrooms, operating lawn care tools, and assisting production as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; not required.
• Capable of operating lawnmower and leaf blower (training provided).
• Experience in custodial/janitorial roles encouraged but not required.

Responsibilities

• Office Cleaning: clean and sanitize restrooms, breakroom, and offices; restock supplies; vacuum and mop floors; organize shared spaces.
• Grounds Maintenance: operate riding lawnmower and leaf blower; pick up litter; report hazards.
• Warehouse Support: keep aisles clear; assist with general cleanup and deep-cleaning.
• General: report maintenance issues; manage inventory of cleaning supplies; support production as needed.

What You'll do

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized environment across Flexible Metal's office building, shop floor, and building grounds. This role plays a critical part in supporting a professional, and orderly facility for employees and visitors. This role may also support the production team as needed.

Office Cleaning

• Clean and sanitize two (2) men's restrooms and two (2) women's restrooms, including restocking supplies
• Deep clean and sanitize the breakroom and office kitchenette(s), including countertops, floors, sinks, cupboards, visible and non-visible areas alike
• Clean appliances including refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, air fryer
• Maintain a clean sink/dish area
• Vacuum offices and common areas & wipe down desks
• Dry-mop hard floor surfaces
• Dust/ wipe down all areas that become unclean
• Empty all trash & replace liners
• Organize common areas and storage/supply closets as needed

Grounds Maintenance

• Operate a riding lawnmower to maintain small patio/grass areas approximately once every two weeks
• Pick up litter/debris from building exterior and parking areas
• Operate a leaf blower to clear entrances, and patio areas
• Report any landscaping or grounds hazards (uneven pavement, drainage issues, etc.) to Plant Manager

Warehouse Support

• Keep aisles, walkways, and emergency paths clear of obstructions
• Assist with general cleanup projects in the warehouse as assigned
• Support shop supervisors with periodic deep-cleaning or organization initiatives

General

• Report maintenance issues (leaks, broken fixtures, burnt-out lighting, equipment malfunctions) to Plant Manager
• Maintain an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed
• Perform other duties as assigned, including supporting the production team as needed.

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; not required
• Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required
• Ability to safely operate a lawnmower and leaf blower ( training provided if needed )
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Skills: time management, attention to detail, and basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemical safety

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and twist
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 25 poundsAbility to operate a lawnmower and leaf blower, including associated vibration and repetitive motion
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and hearing protection, in areas where required .
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
