Job summary

OhioHealth in Ohio is seeking a Facility Coder to perform outpatient coding and abstracting across Emergency Department, Diagnostics, MSF, Ambulatory Surgery, Observation, Outpatient in a Bed, and/or Clinic charging and coding of accounts.

You will assign ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes and determine E/M levels using the Ohio Health Scorecard, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The role involves chart reviews, documentation retrieval, and collaboration with educators and supervisors.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• AAPC/AHIMA certifications required or eligible.
• RHIA/RHIT credentials preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• 60% assign ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes with proper documentation and guidelines.
• 20% enter transaction codes in HBOC system and follow up with physician queries.
• 10% abstract data elements to complete UB-04 and regulatory reporting.
• 5% verify demographics, adjust account details, and identify missing forms.
• 5% identify DNFB issues and route to appropriate staff.
