Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. is seeking a diligent janitor to perform a variety of cleaning activities in assigned buildings, ensuring clean, sanitary and orderly conditions.

You will follow specified routines for high dusting, sanitizing, bathroom care, trash removal, floor care, and grounds upkeep, while maintaining professional customer interactions throughout the shift. Responsibilities include inspecting spaces, addressing spills, and assisting with food court cleaning as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic operations of janitorial work.
• Basics methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Basic safe work practices.
• The use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals (per MSDS sheets).
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Sufficiently communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain physical condition appropriate to assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• High dusting surfaces above shoulder height using a treated high duster.
• Sanitizing and spot cleaning surfaces below shoulder height with germicidal solution.
• Bathroom cleaning in prescribed order with germicidal solution.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Floor dusting or vacuuming with dust mop and proper technique.
• Grounds care including cleaning ash urns, sidewalks and benches.
• Public common areas cleaning and cobweb removal; keep glass clean.
• Food court area cleaning, trash removal and tray washing.
• Floor sanitizing with germicidal solution; clean under furniture.
• Inspect room and maintain neat appearance; report issues.
• Customer relations: knock, be courteous, answer questions and stay in assigned area.
