Receives cash payments, issues receipts, posts cash payment data, and transfers charge ticket information into the billing system.

- Receives payments, including point-of-service, from patients and issues receipts (check-in and checkout).
- Posts payments and maintains required records, reports and files as defined by the Manager/Supervisor.
- Transfers charge ticket information about procedures performed and diagnosis into the billing system.
- Serves as back-up appointment clerk and helps with scheduling.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality.
- Assists in timely resolution of credit balances.
- Interacts in a positive and professional manner with patients/customers and coworkers.
- Attends in-service presentations, and completes mandatory education week, including but not limited to, infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting system and utilizes system to report potential patient safety issues.
General Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: 0 - 3 years of professional work experience required, cashiering experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: None required.

- Communication - communicates clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
- Customer orientation - establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.
- Interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with other employees, patients, and external parties.
- PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in PC applications as required.
- Basic skills - able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately.
