Job description

This position is considered a Safety-Sensitive position. Applicants who pass the interview process will be subject to drug and alcohol testing.

General Description:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled individual to support our Movies Under the Stars event series in Murfreesboro and programming at the Washington Theatre inside Patterson Park Community Center. Responsibilities include setting up and operating live sound and lighting equipment at various locations, ensuring smooth event execution, and delivering excellent customer service to attendees.

Essential Functions:
  1. Communicate effectively in spoken and written English to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  2. Greet customers and assist with their needs, providing accurate information about activities and department details.
  3. Oversee and monitor the facility to ensure a positive experience for all visitors.
  4. Enforce rules and regulations to maintain safety and respond to participant concerns.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
  6. Perform or coordinate repairs and maintenance; operate facility management software, process transactions, and manage reservations and schedules.
  7. Keep accurate records, including inventory and incident reports.
  8. Open and close the facility securely, ensuring all participants have left.
  9. Manage staff, provide guidance, and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  10. Operate and troubleshoot sound and lighting equipment for live events.
  11. Set up and break down A/V and technical equipment on-site.
  12. Drive to and from event locations as needed.
  13. Manage crowd flow and respond calmly to on-site situations.
  14. Make sound judgment calls in a dynamic environment.
  15. Handle live sound adjustments and quality control during events.
  16. Interact professionally and courteously with the public.
  17. Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Qualifications:
  1. Experience with live sound mixing and light board operation.
  2. Ability to lift and move audio/visual equipment.
  3. Strong communication and customer service skills.
  4. Calmness under pressure and quick situational assessment.
  5. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  6. Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
Physical Demands:
  • Light work involving walking or standing most of the time and exerting up to 20 pounds (50 pounds for the Airport department) regularly.
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Must be at least 16 years old. High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. At least 3 months of related experience is required.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Current CPR/AED certifications or ability to acquire within three months of hire.
