The City of Indianapolis is seeking a Supervisor of Recreation Programs. Job Summary
Position is responsible for daily supervision of sports, programs, services, and facilities at assigned park locations. Work related activities include all facets of recreational programming and service delivery. Established policies and procedures and the Department of Parks and Recreation rules and regulations control actions. Independent judgment may occur when deciding on programs and classes to offer, handling discipline problems, emergency situations and dealing with the public. Work is reviewed on a continuing basis by a supervisor who is generally available for detailed/general instructions.Position reports to the Park Manager.

Minimum Job Requirements and Qualifications
Must be self-motivated. Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet various deadlines. Ability to work productively under general supervision. Ability to work varied work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. General knowledge of sports, recreational games and arts and crafts. Ability to plan and organize activities. Ability to maintain discipline and supervise participants of all ages. Ability to follow all established policies and procedures. Must be people and community oriented and have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to obtain officials certification for recreation sports and crafts. Licenses/Certifications Required: Ability to CPR and First Aid Certificate, Indiana Public Passengers Chauffeurs License, NYSCA Clinician Certification.
