Summary: The Facility Attendant is a part-time, hourly position working primarily at The Gardens on Spring Creek, with potential occasional assignments at other Arts & Culture venues, The Lincoln Center, and Center for Creativity. This position performs a variety of tasks in both indoor and outdoor areas such as custodial/janitorial tasks, event setup/breakdown, and grounds maintenance including snow and ice removal. It requires interaction with customers.

This position will be scheduled to work early morning, weekday, weekend, and evening shifts regularly. Typically, 16-29 hours per week based on availability. Hours and location may fluctuate based on event bookings, seasonal needs, and staffing considerations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and strike event equipment throughout the facilities (tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, linens, etc.). LC and CC events are primarily indoors, GOSC events are primarily outdoors.
  • Maintain external grounds and pathways including leaf blowing, raking, sweeping, debris removal, pathway weeding, waste and recycling disposal, wiping surfaces, snow/ice removal, etc.
  • Clean all surfaces within the facilities (toilets, floors, furniture, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, theatres, dressing rooms, etc.) regularly and before/after events.
  • Monitor event areas during events to maintain tidiness, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash/recycling, restroom cleaning, and wiping surfaces.
  • Properly dispose of waste, recycling, and compost materials.
  • Assist with setup and teardown of external holiday lighting and décor, including troubleshooting electrical and lighting app technology.
  • Perform basic maintenance, repairs, inventory, and troubleshooting of event equipment, submitting work requests for significant damages.
  • Communicate availability up to 30 days in advance.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing duties and handling unexpected challenges.
  • Collaborate with coworkers to execute maintenance and setup duties.
  • Monitor kitchen safety and food handling when caterers are present.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not supervise employees.
