Job summary

Stafford County seeks a paraprofessional to open, close and monitor recreation facilities; assist with and supervise a variety of recreational activities; and provide information to the public. Duties are performed under regular supervision and in a community recreation setting.

The position includes prepping facilities, overseeing operations, serving as scorekeeper, maintaining equipment, and enforcing rules to ensure safe, enjoyable programs for participants of all ages.

Performs responsible paraprofessional work opening, closing and monitoring facility operations and assisting with and supervising recreational activities; does related work as required. Duties are performed under regular supervision.

The hiring range for this position is $15.71/hour to $21.61/hour based on experience.

The full salary range for this position is $15.71/hour to $27.50/hour to provide opportunity for growth and development.

• Some knowledge of the methods and practices of community recreation work including knowledge of the equipment and techniques, relevant rules and regulations of social, artistic, craft and/or athletic programs for children, youths or adults;
• Ability to instruct common recreational activities;
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with other workers, program participants and the general public;
• Ability to enforce rules and regulations and maintain discipline.

Graduation from high school or equivalent experience.
