Job Objective

In this role, incumbents perform a variety of housekeeping tasks in the manufacturing and distribution facility, maintaining cleanliness and quality standards throughout the facility by deep cleaning all production lines, including machines and equipment. They assist the preventative maintenance crew as needed and back-up others in production as instructed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Operate a tow motor during refuse removal and collection from the facility.
2. Perform manufacturing facility cleaning activities: operate industrial cleaning equipment to clean floors, catwalks, floor drains, pipes, tanks, and equipment; clean floors, hand rails, etc.
3. Assist with production line preventative maintenance and deep cleaning of equipment, requiring Lockout Tagout training.
4. Operate simple machinery: floor scrubbers, HEPA vacuums, steam cleaners, pallet jacks, etc.
5. Responsible for painting the facility and offices following safety guidelines, handling chemicals and solvents properly, and disposing of waste correctly.
6. Assist production service and packaging departments with tasks like sleeve, shrink wrap, pack, nozzle, label, stencil, etc.
7. Perform sanitization of the facility and equipment as needed, working with related departments.
8. Troubleshoot housekeeping and safety issues and advise appropriate personnel.
9. Assist with regulatory compliance by labeling and delivering scrap to designated areas.
10. Move stacked pallets of cardboard to pallet wrapper and load onto trailers.
11. Gather necessary supplies, such as cleaning materials.
12. Serve as backup to team members; overtime may be required.
13. Move materials within the workstation, including components, products, and furniture.
14. Process paperwork like cleaning logs and PIT checklists promptly and correctly.
15. Assist with onboarding, training, and orientation of new employees.
16. Follow safety procedures and SOPs.
17. Operate powered industrial transportation equipment per SOPs and training.
18. Handle all general housekeeping tasks routed through this position.

Education and Experience - Required

At least one year of experience in industrial or commercial cleaning or janitorial services, including operating industrial equipment and motor experience. Knowledge of lock-out, tag-out procedures is preferred or can be gained through on-the-job training.
