Job summary

The Town of Danville is seeking a dependable maintenance worker to perform janitorial cleaning and routine facility upkeep for designated department spaces. You will maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment and assist with special-project cleaning tasks.

Work well in a team and independently, following Town policies and department procedures. Candidates should have basic math skills and be at least 18 years old. This is a regular on-site role with safety guidelines to follow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Working knowledge of general cleaning principles and practices.
• Ability to learn the proper use of Department equipment.
• Ability to become knowledgeable of applicable Town and Department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine janitorial cleaning and maintenance services for designated department facilities.
• Maintain facilities in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition.
• Assist with special-projects cleaning.
• Properly operate and care for department cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and remain productive with limited supervision.
• Follow all applicable Town and Department policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Become familiar with and properly follow Department procedures related to assigned duties.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Danville Parks management staff.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
