Job summary

The State of Hawaii, Department of Health, Director Office, Disability and Communication Access Board, Downtown, Oahu, is seeking a clerical and administrative support role. Responsibilities

  • Process HRS §103-50 submittals of architectural and engineering drawings, specifications and design review fees as required by statute.
  • Stamp submittals with received date and logs project into the FAU project log.
  • Collects and reviews and verifies incoming forms and design review fees to ensure that the forms and fees submitted are in conformance with, and as directed in Hawaii Administrative Rules 11-216 for HRS §103-50.
  • Sends confirmation emails/receipts to the department/agency and consultants on status of submittals.
  • Consults with supervisor on incorrect or incomplete submittals and follows up to ensure appropriate documents or fees are submitted before processing.
  • Creates and updates database entries of HRS §103-50 projects resubmitted for review and after each completed review, records the status of the review.
  • Initiates follow-up calls to determine status of the various projects submitted until they are completed as directed by statute.
  • Enters calls and project statuses into the database.
  • Answers basic phone inquiries for the office and those related to the FAU and directs callers to the appropriate staff as necessary.
  • Performs general reception duties to ensure incoming visitors and public are directed to the appropriate staff for assistance.
  • Accepts and signs for project submittals and general deliveries.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Exempt, Non-Civil Service, Full-Time, Permanent Appointment. The primary purpose of this position is to

EDUCATION:

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework work schedule after completion of six months of credible service and upon approval by the supervisor.

This position is exempt from civil service and considered temporary by nature. Therefore, if you are appointed to the position, your employment will be considered to be “at will,” which means that you may be discharged from your employment at the prerogative of your department head or designee at any time.
