Job summary

Hazard Community & Technical College is inviting applications for a Facilities Worker II on the Hazard campus. The position operates Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 pm–10:00 pm Tuesday–Friday and 8:00 am–4:00 pm Saturday, with review beginning October 5, 2026.

Responsibilities include grounds and custodial tasks, event setup, HVAC monitoring, and basic facility repairs. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma/GED and one year of related experience.

• Install basic wiring: receptacles, switches, breakers, lighting fixtures.
• Perform basic power equipment repairs and upkeep.
• Perform basic plumbing: water fountain installations and repairs.
• Perform basic carpentry: drywall, painting, door repair, tile work.

Salary Range: $27,000.00 annual ($13.84 per hour plus $0.30 per hour shift differential)

Job Summary

We are currently looking to fill a position for a Tuesday through Saturday shift (Tuesday to Friday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm) with the location primarily serving our Hazard Campus. Review of applications will begin October 5, 2026.

Job Duties

• Perform grounds maintenance: mowing, weed eating, planting, snow removal, parking lot repairs.
• Perform general custodial duties: cleaning floors, offices, bathrooms, removal of trash.
• Perform set up of tables, chairs, stages, etc. for events on campus.
• Provides HVAC monitoring/maintenance.
• Performs basic installation of receptacles, switches, breakers, ballast; replaces light fixtures.
• Perform basic power equipment repairs and upkeep.
• Perform basic plumbing: water fountain installations, waterline repairs, valve repairs, drain line maintenance.
• Perform basic carpentry; dry walling, painting, door repair, installation of partitions, and installation of ceiling and floor tiles.
• *May be assigned to other campuses or shifts as needed.*

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and one year related experience required. Basic computer/technology skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

Technology experience and knowledge of building mechanical maintenance preferred.
