Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC (SHM) is the world’s largest marina owner and operator. This Facilities Assistant role supports facility operations, welding and fabrication of metal parts, and coordination with staff, guests and vendors.

The position requires a high school diploma (technical training preferred), TIG/MIG capabilities, ability to lift 50 pounds, and willingness to work overtime. SHM provides a full benefits package and opportunities for professional development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Weld, fabricate and modify a variety of metals for facility-based parts and vessel equipment as needed
• Developing and maintaining effective, friendly, professional working relationships with staff, members, guests and vendors
• Carry out duties and responsibilities assigned by the Facilities Manager
• Availability to work overtime when required
• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• TIG and MIG capabilities as well as basic fabrication skills required
• Technical school training preferred
• Ability to work safely around the water
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Knowledge of dock construction and repair preferred
• Knowledge of basic power tools preferred
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Any skills considered standard that a Facilities Assistant should possess
