Job summary

Intel Corporation is seeking a Facilities Water/Waste Treatment Engineer to operate and maintain sophisticated water and waste systems at its Phoenix site. You will troubleshoot issues, analyze water quality, and support environmental compliance across manufacturing facilities.

The role requires a chemical engineering degree with 1+ years of hands-on water treatment experience or a related master's degree. You will work with internal teams, utilities, and laboratories to ensure efficient water

Qualifications

  • Experience in water/waste treatment and troubleshooting water quality.
  • Ability to interpret waterquality data and operate treatment systems.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance standards and regulations.
  • Experience with water laboratories and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain LIWS and IWT systems.
  • Troubleshoot water quality issues related to treatment processes.
  • Serve as SME in water analysis and sampling.
  • Manage water laboratory calibration and inventory.
  • Coordinate with utilities and labs to sample and obtain results.
  • Prepare technical reports for technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Oversee sampling/analysis budget for cost optimization.
  • Write and review SOPs for water sampling and analysis.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting industrial water and chemical-related issues, analyzing water quality, and managing essential water treatment processes. Your work will directly support Intel's manufacturing operations by maintaining critical infrastructure that ensures environmental compliance and operational excellence. **Business group** The Facilities team is essential to maintaining Intel's manufacturing and operational facilities, delivering reliable systems and services that enable innovation and growth. This group focuses on sustainability, efficiency, and compliance, ensuring Intel's facilities meet strict environmental standards while supporting our broader business goals. The team operates at the intersection of engineering, operations, and environmental stewardship, creating an inspiring environment for innovation and collaboration. **Key Responsibilities** - Operate and maintain Liquid industrial wastewater systems (LIWS), and industrial water systems (IWT). - Troubleshoot water quality issues related to ion exchange, ultrafiltration, UV systems, wastewater, and heat exchangers. - Serve as a subject matter expert in water analysis and sampling, providing technical guidance to engineers and operators. - Manage water laboratories, ensuring equipment calibration, inventory management, and consumable availability. - Work and coordinate with water and wastewater utility partners and third-party analytical laboratories to sample, ship, and obtain results of collected samples. Maintain periodic communication with key suppliers to ensure the latest and most cost-effective solutions are implemented and that technical accuracy is maintained in master specifications and standards. - Prepare technical reports for both technical and nontechnical audiences, summarizing performance and initiatives. - Oversee the sampling and analysis budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimization. - Implement innovative methods to improve accuracy, turnaround times, and overall efficiency in water sampling and analysis. - Maintain Plan of Record documentation and specifications governing system design, troubleshooting, and operations. Write and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) relating to water sampling and analysis.## **Qualifications:****Minimum Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field with 1+ years of hands-on experience in water/waste treatment gained through internships, academic projects, coursework, or hands-on training- OR a Master's degree in chemical engineering or related field with no prior professional experience.**Experience must include the following:** - Water treatment systems such as ion exchange, ultrafiltration, pH Control and UV systems. - Environmental compliance standards and regulations. - Analytical instruments used in water quality analysis. **Preferred Qualifications** - Strong problem-solving skills with a structured approach to troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. - Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical information to diverse audiences. - Proven collaboration and teamwork experience in interdisciplinary environments. - Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and safe work practices.
