Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. is seeking a Facility/Utilities Technician for our McCalla, AL site. This role operates and maintains steam boilers, ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, wastewater treatment, and related utilities, with a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent, the ability to read safety rules and GMPs, and strong communication. The role requires safety consciousness, data logging, and teamwork across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, GMPs and general instructions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain steam boilers, therm al oxidizer and HVAC systems.
• Monitor and adjust ammonia refrigeration and wastewater treatment processes.
• Perform PMs, log data, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Lead shift activities and provide data-driven problem solving.
• Support other plant areas and document issues and corrective actions.
