Job summary

The Town of Marana is seeking a Facilities Tradesman – Journeyman Level Electrician to join the Public Works Department, Facilities Division. This is a full-time role with a focus on maintaining safe, clean environments for Town staff.

Responsibilities include managing work orders, mentoring junior staff, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulations. On-call rotation is required, with competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related field.
• Over five years’ experience in a related field.
• Valid Arizona Driver License.
• Must complete a pre-employment physical including an audiogram and pass a 50-pound lift test.
• Must complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check.

• Manages daily work orders, completes work requests, receives requests, evaluates problems, obtains supplies, and schedule repairs/requests.
• Mentors other facilities technician expanding providing knowledge and experience; provide on the job training, and ensures availability of materials to complete jobs/projects.
• Performs preventative maintenance inspecting equipment and buildings troubleshoots problems, follows facilities calendar, and performs repairs as needed; operates various shop equipment. Performs higher-level trade skills such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and relocation of office furniture and equipment.
• Complies with Federal laws and regulations when completing required jobs/projects; facilitates safety trainings regarding equipment and repair.

Hours of Operation: 7:00 – 4:00 pm

On-Call: Required rotation

Expected Hiring Range

$24.52 - $31.27 per hour

• Placement within the expected hiring range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget.

Salary Range

$24.52 - $37.01 per hour

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associates degree in electrical technology or a closely related field.
• Over five years’ journey-level experience in a construction trade as a journeyman level electrician.
• Public Sector experience in municipal, county, or state government.
• Possess one year (or more)of experience in a Lead position
