Job summary

The San Francisco SPCA is seeking a Facilities Technician I to maintain our buildings, support cleaning, safety, and everyday operations. You will handle routine tasks, emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, groundskeeping, and event setup to ensure a clean, safe, and functional environment.

Responsibilities include custodial duties, exterior maintenance, landscaping, floor care, equipment operation, and assisting with facility projects while following OSHA rules and the organization's

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; ability to read and write English and perform basic math.
• Valid CA driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Knowledge of custodial methods and basic handyman ability.
• Commitment to safe work practices and the organization’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily custodial duties for offices, staff, and public areas.
• Maintain exterior areas, landscaping, and cleanliness of common spaces.
• Provide floor care, including carpet cleaning and waxing.
• Assist with event setup, furniture moves, and on-site logistics.
• Support maintenance tasks and basic repairs as needed.
• Follow OSHA regulations and safety protocols at all times.
• Open/close campus operations and ensure doors remain secure.
