Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance across the facility. You will complete work orders, document progress, and install a range of hardware and fixtures in patient-care and public areas.

The role requires ability to work weekends/nights as needed and to maintain safety and quality standards while supporting hospital operations in a dynamic care environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs general preventive maintenance around the facility.
• Completes work orders and documents status for records.
• Installs glass windows, fixtures, and medical hardware stations.
• Performs outside maintenance including lawn care, snow removal, and trimming.
• Performs minor plumbing repairs and replacements of fixtures.
• Applies paint or wall coverings to surfaces per specifications.
• Performs other related duties as required.

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 associates. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. Job Summary

Performs general preventive maintenance and repair of various areas around the facility

• Completes work orders, documents appropriate information on completed work and/or documents the status of equipment in order to maintain appropriate records for regulatory agencies
• Utilizes materials (wood, metal, concrete, plastics, composites) to fit and install glass windows, pictures, ceiling tiles, perimeter rail systems, wood trim and moldings, medical hardware stations, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations and other projects
• Performs general outside maintenance (mowing lawns, weeding, raking leaves, trimming bushes, snow removal and ice control tasks (shoveling & salting)
• Perform minor plumbing repairs and replacements of faucets, toilets and flush valves
• Performs the decorative application to walls, ceiling and other structures which includes scraping, sanding, filling holes and cracks, removing /replacing outlet and switch covers, masking and applying paint or wall covering to surfaces based on manufacturing specifications
• Perform other related duties as required
