Job summary

Rushford Center, part of Hartford HealthCare, seeks a maintenance technician to perform general preventive maintenance and repair around its Meriden facility. You will handle a variety of tasks from carpentry to basic plumbing and safety-compliant operations to keep the site compliant and welcoming.

The role requires basic building maintenance experience, strong teamwork, and good customer service, with a focus on a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

  • 1 year general building maintenance

  • Ability to operate woodworking equipment, machinery and hand tools

Responsibilities

  • Completes work orders, documents appropriate information on completed work and/or documents the status of equipment in order to maintain appropriate records for regulatory agencies.
  • Utilizes materials (wood, metal, concrete, plastics, composites) to fit and install glass windows, pictures, ceiling tiles, perimeter rail systems, wood trim and moldings, medical hardware stations, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations and other projects.
  • Performs general outside maintenance (mowing lawns, weeding, raking leaves, trimming bushes, snow removal and ice control tasks (shoveling & salting)).
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs and replacements of faucets, toilets and flush valves.
  • Performs the decorative application to walls, ceiling and other structures which includes scraping, sanding, filling holes and cracks, removing /replacing outlet and switch covers, masking and applying paint or wall covering to surfaces based on manufacturing specifications.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Job Summary
