Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Maintenance & Custodial Technician to support the Virginia Army National Guard at the Sandston Army Aviation Support Facility. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and minor construction of facilities and grounds, working under ROMMs across the region.

The position emphasizes safe, high-quality, cost-effective maintenance and requires trade expertise in carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical, plus the ability to read blueprints and lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have documented trade experience in Carpentry, HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical.
• Must be able to read drawings/blueprints.
• A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record is required.
• Essential physical and mental capabilities include interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, follow directions, comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organizing and innovation.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist ROMMs in maintenance, repair, and minor construction of buildings and grounds within the ROMM region.
• Provide safe, high quality, cost effective and timely building and grounds maintenance for the Virginia Army National Guard.
• Serve as the primary preventative maintenance Trades Technician for the Army Aviation Support Facility in Sandston, VA.
