Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Chantilly, VA, is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician – Level C to support the Space Superiority Division. The role maintains daily operations across a single facility, ensures a safe, functional workplace, and handles routine maintenance tasks and inspections.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent (or an associate degree with related experience) and a TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain one within the first year.

Qualifications

• Must have TS/SCI security clearance or be able to obtain one within the first year of employment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with related experience, or an Associate degree with related experience.
• Familiarity with CMMS and LO/TO procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks: bulbs, plumbing, electrical devices, temp adjustments, walls/doors.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and monthly safety inspections.
• Support conference room setup/teardown and office moves.
• Assist with furniture installations and workspace reconfigurations.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and maintain records.
• Operate equipment including forklifts and scissor/boom lifts as needed.
• Promote safe work practices and comply with safety policies.

Job Description: This position supports the Space Superiority Division’s SI1 location in Chantilly, Virginia. The selected candidate will be responsible for facilities maintenance and day-to-day operations across multiple suites within a single facility. This role requires a proactive, service‑oriented professional who can ensure a safe, functional, and well‑maintained work environment.
Essential Functions:

• Perform routine maintenance activities, including but not limited to:
  • Replacing light bulbs
  • Completing minor plumbing repairs
  • Installing electrical devices
  • Making temperature adjustments
  • Repairing walls and doors
  • Responding to general service requests
• Conduct preventive maintenance and monthly safety inspections of assigned building areas, promptly identifying and reporting maintenance concerns to the Facilities Manager.
• Support conference room setup and teardown activities.
• Assist with office moves, furniture installations, and workspace reconfigurations.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as directed by the Facilities Manager.
• Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely records of maintenance activities.
• Handle materials and operate equipment as needed, including forklifts, box trucks/vans, and lifts such as scissor lifts and boom lifts.
• Promote safe and effective work practices while collaborating respectfully and professionally with coworkers.
• Support the overall objective of maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and comfortable work environment.
• Comply with all Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Must currently possess a TS/SCI security clearance or be able to obtain one within the first year of employment.

• Ability to climb ladders and perform physical tasks involving extended periods of standing, walking, bending, or sitting.
• Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors, including walking building interiors and surrounding grounds.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, and wind.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the state of Virginia is $57,000-$106,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
