Position Summary

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of county parks, facilities, and public spaces. This position performs routine custodial and grounds maintenance duties, including cleaning and restocking restrooms, collecting litter, monitoring facility conditions, and reporting maintenance concerns. The employee operates county vehicles to travel between work sites and assists in ensuring county properties remain safe, functional, and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Essential Functions
  • Keep Things Moving: Safely drive a county vehicle between local job sites and service areas.
  • Maintain Facilities: Clean, disinfect, and restock community restrooms to keep them sanitary and welcoming.
  • Freshen the Grounds: Gather trash and clear litter from the property perimeter to keep our outdoor spaces presentable.
  • Stay Safe & Report: Follow traffic laws, maintain your work vehicle, and immediately report any maintenance hazards to your supervisor.
Requirements
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Notice of Emergency/Disaster Responsibilities

All Lake County Employees may be required to work as a Disaster Service Worker when a local declaration of emergency or disaster is declared by the Board of County Commissioners. To be prepared for this role, all employees and emergency service function (ESF) leads will attend emergency management trainings and exercises as requested by the Director of Emergency Management. With advanced notification from OEM, employees will make reasonable efforts to attend training events in coordination with other employees and supervisors.
