Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee is seeking two Facilities Technician III professionals to maintain the Student Union building, a five-floor facility spanning ~330,000 sq ft with dining, conference spaces, retail, recreation, and gallery areas.

The role focuses on inspections, maintenance, and collaboration with trades and staff to keep operations safe and functional. First shift is 7:30 PM – 4:00 PM, with flexible hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs unassisted.
• Degree or technical certification in a trade is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent damage and ensure optimal operation.
• Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness.
• Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to policies and procedures.
• Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes facility-related deliveries to appropriate areas; ensures accuracy and timely handling.
• Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed.
