Join to apply for the Facilities Technician I - Yankton Campus role at Mount Marty University.

Mount Marty University is accepting applications for a Facilities Tech I. This is a full-time, non-exempt, benefit-eligible role dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean, attractive, and effective physical environment for the campus community. The position also involves providing high-quality service and support in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning tasks to ensure sanitary conditions, including shining floors and base moldings, cleaning surfaces, fixtures, and trash containers.
  • Scrub, mop, wax, and polish floors using appropriate equipment.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance such as re-lamping, snow removal, ceiling tile replacement, painting, filter changes, and general repairs.
  • Move and arrange furniture as needed.
  • Work safely, productively, and environmentally friendly.
  • Follow safety regulations and use safety equipment properly.
  • Work overtime during emergencies, severe weather, or special events.
  • Supervise, train, and support student employees.
  • Maintain a friendly atmosphere within the department and the campus community.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Operations.
  • Check and respond to emails, submit/update scheduled tasks, and learn to use computerized systems for communication and record-keeping.
  • Perform basic maintenance and operation of tools and equipment.
  • Assist with basic construction and installation tasks, including furniture, plumbing fixtures, and flooring.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and communicate professionally with staff, students, and the public.
  • Support graduation and other campus events.
  • Perform snow removal as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 lbs. and work from ladders.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Commitment to the mission of Mount Marty University.
