Job summary

Bob's Discount Furniture is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for our Macon, GA distribution center. The role covers general building upkeep, carpentry, painting, electrical work, and equipment support in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

You will maintain safe and clean facilities, perform routine logs, and assist with HVAC, plumbing, and other repairs as needed. Weekend and on-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: General building maintenance skills required.
• Ability to efficiently utilize general hand tools, saws, drills, and similar equipment.
• Technical: Must have basic knowledge of forklift or industrial equipment operation.
• Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is a plus.
• Other: Able to multitask and manage competing priorities.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, and basic electrical work.
• Conduct lawn care, exterior grounds maintenance, and snow removal as applicable and seasonally required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area throughout the facility.
• Operate building maintenance equipment in a safe and proper manner.
• Report any and all unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Lead or management team immediately.
• Assist with light facility repairs including plumbing, HVAC support, and general building upkeep.
• Support the maintenance team with equipment-related tasks as directed.
• Complete maintenance logs and documentation as required.
• All other duties as assigned.
