Job summary

Freedom House Recovery Center in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure all mechanical and electrical systems operate reliably. You will perform routine upkeep, minor repairs, and coordinate with external vendors as needed to keep the facility safe and functional.

Responsibilities include fleet care, daily inspections of buildings, completing work orders, managing invoices, and maintaining essential tools and spare parts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical and electrical equipment; perform repairs and/or consult for external vendor support.
• Maintain agency fleet: care for vehicles and report issues to Facilities Operations Manager.
• Keep vehicle registrations, insurance cards, and safety inspections up to date and stocked with safety equipment.
• Carry out carpentry tasks including drywall, window/cabinet replacement, painting, and door hardware installation.
• Run scheduled maintenance on facilities and tooling machines and support equipment.
• Coordinate with management to ensure consistent facility maintenance per regulations.
• Inspect daily for damage: carpet stains, wall marks, ceiling tiles, blinds.
• Submit and comment on work orders in the electronic system.
• Submit invoices/receipts for maintenance charges promptly.
• Develop and maintain spare parts inventory of basic tools.
• Adapt tasks as needed to ensure facility services.
