Job summary

PLASKOLITE is hiring a Facilities Technician I in Zanesville, OH. The role supports maintenance, safety, and reliability of the plant, performing preventive maintenance and repairs across HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical, and infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The position requires attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. Benefits include a bonus program and a 6 am–2 pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, tools, and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on facility systems and equipment.
• Support plant safety and compliance by maintaining work areas to OSHA and company standards.
• Monitor building systems and environmental controls to ensure proper functioning.
• Assist with installation, relocation, and removal of equipment and furniture as needed.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repairs.
• Maintain records of maintenance work, inspections, and equipment performance logs.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.
• Participate in emergency response, snow removal, and seasonal facility prep.
• Collaborate with Operations and EHS on safety audits and energy upgrades.
• Follow Plaskolite policies, promoting safety and continuous improvement.
• Operate floor scrubber and clean warehouse and production floors.
• Clean restrooms, break areas, production areas, and offices.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Facilities Technician I supports the maintenance, safety, and operational reliability of Plaskolite’s physical plant and equipment. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, facility repairs, and general upkeep across a range of systems including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical, and infrastructure. The technician ensures that all facilities meet safety standards and supports operational continuity, contributing to a clean, safe, and efficient work environment aligned with Plaskolite’s values of integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality—reflecting Plaskolite’s core values of Integrity and Improvement.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on facility systems and equipment (e.g., HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and minor electrical systems).
• Support plant safety and compliance by maintaining work areas to OSHA and company standards.
• Monitor building systems and environmental controls to ensure proper functioning.
• Assist with installation, relocation, and removal of equipment, office furniture, and other facility assets as needed.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repairs.
• Maintain records of maintenance work, inspections, and equipment performance logs.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
• Participate in emergency response, snow removal, and seasonal facility preparations.
• Collaborate with Operations, EHS, and other departments to support plant-wide initiatives, including safety audits, energy efficiency upgrades, and facility improvement projects.
• Follow all Plaskolite policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Operate floor scrubber and clean warehouse and production floors.
• Attention to cleaning plant restrooms, break areas, production areas, and offices.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste.
