Job summary

Plaskolite, LLC is seeking an Extrusion Process Engineer to oversee safe, efficient extrusion operations and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing lines in Scranton, PA. You will work with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, and R&D to troubleshoot issues and plan maintenance and capital projects.

Qualifications include a BS in Engineering and 4–6 years of industrial process-engineering experience.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field.
  • 4–6 years of professional industrial process-engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for process deviations.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and process documentation for consistent production practices.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Product Development to scale up materials from trials to full-scale production.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, health and safety standards in all process activities.
  • Develop and support capital projects by providing technical input on equipment selection, process design and system commissioning.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support manufacturing excellence, sustainability and new technology deployment.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to production staff on process best practices and troubleshooting methods.
  • Lead Maintenance and Engineering teams to evaluate equipment performance and prioritize upgrades.
  • Identify, monitor and troubleshoot data to find opportunities for productivity and quality gains.
  • Foster continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing across production lines.
  • Develop cost reduction initiatives by optimizing raw material usage and energy consumption.

Pay Range: $85,000 - $130,000 USD - Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Job Summary

The Extrusion Process Engineer isa mid-level professionalresponsiblefor the safe,efficientand sustainable operation ofPlaskolite’sextrusion manufacturing processes.This positionoperateswith a high degree of technicalexpertisein extrusion processing whileassistingthe daily operation of the process.This positionutilizesthe understanding of equipment operation, process control fundamentals, and data-driven problem solving to supportthe extrusion process.

The Extrusion Process Engineer collaborates across functions– including Operations, Quality,Engineering,Maintenance,Safetyand R & D Teams– to maintain steady-state operations,troubleshootequipment and production issues, identifying areas of continuous improvement, andhelp plan the execution of maintenance activities.This role is a key contributor to maintaining product quality, minimizing waste,and maintaining compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for process deviations and quality nonconformances
  • Develop andmaintainstandard operating procedures (SOPs) and processdocumentation for consistent and repeatable production practices
  • Collaborate with R&D and Product Development teams to scale up new materials and products fromtrials to full scale production
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, healthand safety standards in all process related activities
  • Develop and support capital projects by providing technical input on equipmentselection, processdesignand system commissioning
  • Participate and/or lead in cross functional teams to support strategic initiatives related to manufacturing excellence,sustainabilityandnew technologydeployment
  • Provide training and technical guidance to production and technical staff on process best practices and troubleshooting methods
  • Lead Maintenance and Engineering teams to evaluate equipment performance, recommend upgrades,identifyprocess concerns, prioritizeprojectsand ensure process reliability
  • Identify,monitorand troubleshootdata toidentifyopportunities for productivity and quality gains
  • Foster continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles across productionlines
  • Develop cost reduction initiatives byoptimizingraw material usageand energy consumption
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in industrial processengineering experience.

  • Strong working knowledge ofPlaskolite’spolymerization manufacturing process.
  • Excellentanalytical,organizational, and project managementskills.
  • Effective communicator withabilityto lead cross-functional teams.
