Job summary

GTI Fabrication in the United States seeks an Electrical Technician to install, maintain and repair electrical systems across multiple facilities. You will interpret schematics and safety protocols while collaborating with engineering teams to minimize downtime and ensure dependable operation.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma plus accredited electrician training, NEC knowledge, and the ability to travel to job sites nationwide. PLCs and CMMS exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with accredited electrical technician training.
  • Experience as electrical technician or similar role involving electrical system maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and NEC standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures per codes.
  • Diagnose electrical problems using testing devices such as voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to support system upgrades, modifications, and new installations.
  • Document maintenance and repair work accurately and report safety hazards promptly.

Position Overview

The Electrical Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment across various facilities. This position requires a thorough understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and safety protocols to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently. The technician will collaborate closely with engineering teams and other technical staff to support ongoing projects and minimize downtime. Attention to detail and adherence to regulatory standards are essential to maintain system reliability and safety. Ultimately, the Electrical Technician contributes to the seamless operation of electrical infrastructure, supporting organizational productivity and safety goals.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with completion of an accredited electrical technician training program.
  • Proven experience as an electrical technician or in a similar role involving electrical system maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety regulations (e.g., NEC standards).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites within the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Certification such as Journeyman Electrician or Electrical Technician Certification.
  • Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in both residential and commercial electrical systems.
