Job summary

The Sisters of St. Francis in Dubuque, IA are seeking a dependable Maintenance team member.

This full-time, non-exempt role supports building and grounds upkeep, equipment repairs, and preventative maintenance to keep the campus safe and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors. You will move between building maintenance, equipment repairs, grounds work, and seasonal tasks, and participate in the year-round on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other routine facility needs.
• Use knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire alarm systems to identify concerns, perform routine maintenance, and assist with repairs.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and furnishings.
• Maintain and repair medical assistive equipment, including wheelchairs, walkers, bedrails, beds, and related equipment.
• Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of the nurse call system.
• Perform grounds work, including mowing, trimming, pruning, gardening, and other seasonal outdoor work.
• Participate in snow and ice removal to keep sidewalks, roadways, entrances, and campus areas safe.
• Read, interpret, and complete work orders, task lists, and preventative maintenance assignments.
• Document time, equipment, materials, and inventory used on work orders.
• Assist with campus projects, repairs, room set-ups, moves, and other facility needs.
• Participate in year-round maintenance on-call rotation and respond promptly when called.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance team and other departments to support campus needs.
