Job summary

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to perform preventive and corrective actions for building systems, vehicles, grounds, and related equipment. The role requires independent problem solving and the ability to work under limited supervision.

Responsibilities include inspecting facilities, conducting safety checks, and assisting contractors on various projects.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years’ experience in building trades or building maintenance required.
  • 2 years’ experience with hand and power tools required.
  • Colorado driver’s license and vehicle insurance required.
  • Evening/night/weekend and on-call work required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain major building systems: mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building structure.
  • Perform daily functional and safety checks on systems.
  • Inspect facilities and equipment for maintenance and repair needs.
  • Assist contractors and departments with projects as needed.
  • Repair and maintain museum vehicles and motorized equipment.
  • Provide off-hours on-call service and snow removal as scheduled.
  • Use computer to diagnose system problems and improve efficiencies.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
