Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a facilities HVAC technician to maintain and operate all HVAC systems, chillers, and related equipment in a continuous manufacturing environment. The role requires certification, hands-on maintenance in large facilities, and coordination with contractors.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of facilities maintenance experience, strong electrical/mechanical drawing skills, and the ability to work after hours.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Current Refrigeration Certification.
  • 2-10 years of related experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
  • Experience with chillers and compressed air systems and their control systems.
  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate equipment repair records.
  • Establish and maintain good relations with peers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Ability to work after hours as needed.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate all HVAC systems, chillers, plumbing systems, building management system, generators, compressed air systems in a 24/7 manufacturing process.
  • Perform PM and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment and coordinate with third-party contractors as needed.
  • Prepare and submit summary reports of equipment conditions with recommendations for improvement.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.
  • Maintain compliance to City, County, State ordinances and codes.
  • Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required.
  • Delivers proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools applicable to trade.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Position Purpose
  • Maintain and operate all HVAC systems, chillers, plumbing systems, building management system, generators, compressed air systems In a 24 hrs. / 7 day a week manufacturing process.
Duties And Responsibilities

  • Large Facilities maintenance and Manufacturing experience preferred

The range for this position is $28.00 hourly rate - $32.50 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
