Job summary

MKS Instruments in Massachusetts is seeking a Facilities Technician to partner with engineering and operations across the MA facilities, reporting to the MA Senior Facilities Manager. This role focuses on safety, energy efficiency and reliable operation of complex semiconductor tooling environments.

You will install equipment and processes, maximize preventive maintenance, and support building management systems, HVAC, and gas detection networks.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Wastewater certification is highly desired and must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
• 5–10 years of commercial HVAC experience.
• 5–10 years of experience with gas detection systems.
• Good documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel locally between facilities.
• Ability to work M-F, 8:00–4:30 with rotating Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance MA facilities safety, energy efficiency and functionality for semiconductor tooling.
• Install new equipment and processes with engineering, operations and facilities teams.
• Maximize maintenance needs of systems across facilities.
• Oversee gas detection systems, HVAC, and building management systems.
• Travel between facilities approximately 4 times per week.

Job description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Facilities Technician at MKS Instruments, you will partner with the different engineering and operational groups in the MA facilities. In this role, you will report to the MA Senior Facilities Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

Keeping and making the MA MKS Facilities safer, energy efficient and functional for the manufacturing and design of complex semiconductor tooling.

You will work with engineering, operations and facilities to install new equipment and processes. You will help to maximize the required maintenance needs of the different systems at the different MKS facilities.

• Gas Detection systems. daily operations, calibrations and expanding the system as needed.
• HVAC Systems, ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the different systems in the facilities.
• Building management systems, ensure that the system is functional and tracking the different HVAC systems properly.
• Travel Requirements: Between the different facilities, averaging 4 times a week.

Skills You Bring:

• Detail oriented. Trouble shooting. Problem solving
• Wastewater experience/certification highly desired. Must obtain certification within 6 months of hire date.
• 5-10 years of job-related work experience in commercial HVAC
• 5-10 years of job-related work experience with gas detection systems
• Good documentation skills
• Able to travel locally between different MKS facilities
• Able to work M-F, 8am - 4:30pm, with rotating Saturdays

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $26.11 - 44.18 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
