Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician in Pittsburgh to perform cleaning, minor repairs, and equipment maintenance across our facility. You will ensure safe operation of electrical systems, inspect panels, and supervise contractors on site during renovations.

Strong reading of manuals and drawings is needed, along with basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical knowledge. Occupational safety is a priority: read blueprints, keep accurate reports, and maintain equipment including

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical tools.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, air compressors and electrical systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools and meters effectively.
  • Must be able to read and work from technical manuals and drawings.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work comfortably at heights up to 40 feet.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Graduate of a technical or vocational school/college; Completion of OSHA’s 10-hour general industry safety training; Drafting or welding experience; Small engine repair or hydraulics or pneumatics training; Manlift, Scissorlift and/or forklift operation

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning activities as needed to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility
  • Address minor fixes including repairing broken locks, repairing and painting walls, and other basic tasks
  • Inspect electrical panels and wiring to identify issues and ensure safety
  • Supervise contractors on site
  • Complete reports in a timely manner
  • Install, maintain and repair appliances and equipment
  • Perform outdoor maintenance on lighting, parking lots and grounds
  • Replace light housings and electrical fixtures
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems
  • Perform routine maintenance on compressors, HVAC, automated machinery and mobile equipment
  • Check functionality of safety systems, including fire alarms
  • Collaborate with other team members and professionals during renovations
  • Create material lists and requisitions for upcoming projects and repairs
  • Attend online and offsite equipment and safety training as needed
