We are seeking a highly self‑directed and reliable Facility Technician to join our team. This role will oversee the daily operations, maintenance, safety, shipping/receiving and inventory control for a 10,000 sq. ft aerospace and defense facility. This hands‑on hourly role will ensure that the facility operates efficiently and securely and ensures compliance with all company facility operational requirements.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on self‑starter who can independently manage the facility operations, shipping and receiving, physical inventory control, service contractor coordination and on‑site supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of a 10,000 sq. ft. aerospace/defense facility
  • Ensure the facility is clean, organized, and secure
  • Monitor the building systems (HVAC, electrical, cooling systems, fire safety)
  • Schedule preventative maintenance and emergency repairs, scheduling and supervising outside service contractors
  • Maintain documentation on maintenance activities
  • Monitor the facility janitorial services when present
  • Manage all inbound and outbound shipping
  • Coordinate with carriers and internal teams on timely delivery
  • Participate in incoming property inspection, record keeping
  • Manage bonded inventory storage, checking new materials into storage and tracking authorized disbursements of materials
  • Help maintain secure facility access controls, checking in visitors and helping supervise visitors
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4‑6 years of experience in facility operations, warehouse management, or logistics
  • Working knowledge of basic building services (HVAC, plumbing, electric, water‑based chillers)
  • Experience coordinating building service maintenance, scheduling repairs and supervising contractors
  • Well versed in generic computer use
  • Proficient at typing and data entry
  • Self‑motivated
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal direction
  • Thoroughly trustworthy and reliable
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in facility operations, warehouse management, or logistics
  • Working knowledge of basic building services (HVAC, plumbing, electric, water‑based chillers)
  • Experience working for a defense contractor
  • Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and inventory controls
  • Familiarity with safety protocols
  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems
  • Forklift certification
