Job summary

Sylmar Studios, LLC is seeking a Facilities Technician for an on-site role in the North San Fernando Valley. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and production infrastructure to keep studios and offices running smoothly.

Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing facilities and studio spaces, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and structural components, and responding to work orders.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance and repair to support studio systems and production equipment.
• Knowledge of facility management and building maintenance for upkeep of stages, offices, and support areas.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Basic carpentry knowledge is beneficial.
• Ability to read and follow maintenance manuals, safety guidelines and diagrams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• On-site at multiple locations with occasional evening or weekend shifts based on production needs.
• Experience in facilities or building maintenance; relevant certifications or vocational training a plus.

Role Description

The Facilities Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the North San Fernando Valley. This role is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and production-related infrastructure. Daily tasks include inspecting and repairing facilities and studio spaces, troubleshooting issues with mechanical, electrical, and structural components, and responding to work orders in a timely manner. The Facilities Technician collaborates with production teams and studio management to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for all stages, offices and common areas. The role also involves monitoring facility conditions, coordinating with vendors or contractors when needed and adhering to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Maintenance & Repair to support studio systems and production equipment.
• Candidates should possess skills in Facility Management (FM) and Building Maintenance to oversee the general upkeep of stages, offices, and support areas.
• Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Knowledge of basic carpentry practices is beneficial.
• Ability to read and follow maintenance manuals, safety guidelines, and technical diagrams.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• Comfortable with working on-site at multiple locations, including occasional evening or weekend shifts based on production needs.
• Previous experience in facilities or building maintenance, preferably in a production environment; relevant certifications or vocational training are a plus.
