Job summary

MP Materials in Fort Worth, Texas, seeks a Facilities Technician to perform hands-on maintenance and repairs of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical across production, lab, and office spaces.

You will execute preventive and corrective work orders in the CMMS (SAP), coordinate vendors, support equipment moves and event setups, maintain a clean, safe work environment, and comply with safety standards. The position may require overtime or on-call shifts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a facilities technician in industrial/manufacturing settings.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts.

  • Assist with the setup and takedown of equipment for special events or departmental needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and stay current with industry advancements.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to all safety protocols.

Position Overview

The Facilities Technician performs hands‑on maintenance and repairs for building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical across production, lab, and office areas. This role executes preventative and corrective work orders, conducts routine inspections, troubleshoots issues, and records all activities in the CMMS (SAP). The technician also coordinates vendors, supports equipment moves and event setups, and ensures a clean, safe work environment in line with company EHS procedures. The position may require overtime, on‑call, and weekend coverage as needed.
