Job summary

Orion Talent is seeking a hands-on Instrumentation & Controls Technician for a high-tech manufacturing facility in Durham, NC. You will troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based controls, instrumentation, automated equipment, and industrial networks while collaborating with Engineers to keep critical facility systems operating reliably.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience with instrumentation, controls, automation, electronics, or PLC systems, and familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Siemens

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with instrumentation, controls, automation, electronics, or PLC systems.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
• Strong electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with calibration and automated equipment.
• Basic Ethernet networking understanding.
• Military technicians encouraged to apply, especially with related experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC-based systems.
• Diagnose electrical, electronic instrumentation and controls issues.
• Perform instrumentation calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot sensors, transmitters, actuators, control valves, and automated equipment.
• Support Ignition SCADA/HMI systems.
• Troubleshoot industrial Ethernet, IP addressing, and network connectivity.
• Read schematics, P&IDs, control drawings, and technical documentation.
• Document maintenance, calibration, and repair activities.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
