Plug Power Inc. in Dayton, Ohio is seeking a Facilities Technician to support daily facility operations, janitorial tasks, and office administration.

This role blends cleaning duties with administrative coordination and customer-facing support, with about a 70/30 split between facilities assistance and office activities. You will perform cleaning, restocking, mail handling, scheduling support, and help with meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in janitorial, facilities, or building maintenance work.
• Basic computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of offices, restrooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash and recycling; replace liners and dispose of waste properly.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all assigned areas.
• Clean and restock restrooms and breakroom supplies.
• Monitor building condition and report maintenance issues or safety concerns.
• Greet visitors, and direct inquiries appropriately.
• Sort incoming mail and parcel shipments, to the appropriate personnel.
• Order, track, and maintain inventory of office and cleaning supplies.
• Assist with scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, and preparing meeting spaces.
• Support training class needs.
• Assist management with special projects and day-to-day operational needs.

Facilities Technician Status: Non-Exempt (hourly) Department: Operations Position Summary The Facilities Technician supports daily facility operations and office administration to ensure a clean, safe, organized, and efficient workplace. This role combines janitorial responsibilities with administrative coordination, office support, and employee service functions. The position serves as a key resource in maintaining workplace standards while supporting operational and administrative needs across the organization. Role allocation is approximately 70% facilities support and 30% administrative and office coordination.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Facilities & Janitorial Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of offices, restrooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, and common areas
• Empty trash and recycling; replace liners and dispose of waste properly
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all assigned areas
• Clean and restock restrooms and breakroom supplies
• Monitor building condition and report maintenance issues or safety concerns
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and cleanliness standards

Administrative & Office Support Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, and direct inquiries appropriately

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in janitorial, facilities, or building maintenance work
• Basic computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
• Experience in an office or administrative support role
• Familiarity with workplace safety standards and cleaning procedures
• Customer service or front-desk experience
• Time management and task prioritization
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills

Pay Rate: $16.50 - $23.00

• Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. These factors are considered when making an offer of employment.
• The above pay range, may not take into account local geographic pay variations. If there is an applicable geographic differential, a member of the HR team can discuss that with you.
