Job summary

EQUUS is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain the condition, safety, and functionality of our buildings and grounds. This full-time role performs routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoots issues, and ensures facility systems operate efficiently to support daily operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least 1 year of related experience, with basic repair, safety, and communication skills.

Summary: The Facilities Technician is responsible for assisting maintaining the overall condition, functionality, and safety of the organization’s buildings and grounds. This role performs minor, routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoots issues, and ensures that facility systems operate efficiently to support daily business operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

• Understand and follow EQUUS safety/quality policies and procedures.
• Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the warehouse and the whole facility.
• Assist with office moves, furniture setup, and event support as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance repairs involving the use of power and hand tools.
• Change lights that go out and performs minor electrical work.
• Handling any interior painting projects, both dry brush and roller application.
• Coordinate building and grounds maintenance and repair activities with vendors.
• Verify that contracted services performed in a satisfactory manner.
• Assisting with the setup, takedown and cleanup of company luncheons and other events.
• Oversees proper operation and maintenance of building security systems such as door entrance devices and security alarm and closes the facility.
• Assist and backs-up the housekeeper as needed.
• Assist warehouse (Packing, shipping and receiving) as needed.
• Conducts preventive inspection and fills fluids to forklifts.
• Drives a forklift as needed to perform his job.
• Refills vending machines and collects cash.

Essential Education, Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma and minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic understanding of trouble shooting, conducting minor repairs, cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Reliable, dependable, and safety awareness.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.

The base pay range for this role is between $20/hour and $25/hour and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location, along with budgeted range of position.
