Grand Targhee Resort in Alta, WY is seeking a Winter Seasonal Maintenance Assistant to support Facilities Technicians in painting, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, drywall and electrical tasks. Role requires self-motivation, safety focus and willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include operating basic equipment, landscaping, pool/spa duties, and following established safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Facilities Technicians with repair and improvement projects including painting, basic plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, drywall and electrical.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and follow established protocols.
  • Work safely at heights (rooftops, ladders, man-basket).
  • Operate or learn to operate equipment such as a skid steer and forklift.
  • Assist with landscaping, daily pool/spa maintenance and record-keeping.
  • Flexible hours including weekends, holidays and evenings; potential job sharing.
  • Support other departments as needed.

Assists Facilities Technicians with general maintenance and repair of resort facilities, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, drywall & painting . Assists with parking during special events . A key part of every employee’s job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guests at every opportunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES I nclud ing the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assists Facilities Technicians with repair jobs and improvement projects including painting, basic plumbing, carpentry, hvac , drywall repairs, and electrical.
  • Ability to (be) self-motivated, organized, responsible, follow established protocol , and work alone.
  • Comfortable working at heights (rooftops, ladders, man-basket).
  • Capability to operate , or learn to operate , a skid steer and fork truck.
  • Assist with base area landscaping maintenance as needed.
  • Assist with daily pool/spa maintenance, including detailed record keeping.
  • Flexible working hours . Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings . Some job sharing may be required .
  • Help with other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
  • Protect the safety of self-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.
  • Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
  • Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
  • Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort’s Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals and timely completion of required OSHA training.
  • Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.
  • Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

No prior experience or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence . Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
