Job summary

Christ Covenant Church is seeking a dependable Facilities Tech to join the Operations team. The role focuses on keeping campuses safe, functional, and welcoming, with hands-on work in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, and a commitment to excellence and service.

The ideal candidate will support building maintenance, safety, and event setup, and may work weekends or after hours across multiple sites. A team player with strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in building maintenance or facilities work.
• Hands-on knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics and technical diagrams.
• Basic carpentry and maintenance skills are a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently.
• Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs and perform demanding tasks.
• Excellent communication and customer-service oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify issues, safety concerns, and areas for improvement.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Assist Facilities Director in preventative maintenance schedules and improvements.
• Monitor building automation systems where applicable.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors for repairs or inspections.
• Oversee contracted work and inspect for accuracy prior to payment.
• Recruit and train facility volunteers and contractors.

Facilities Tech

Overview

Christ Covenant Church is seeking a dependable and skilled Facilities Tech to join our Operations team. This position plays a key role in supporting the church’s mission by ensuring our campus remains safe, functional, and welcoming for all ministries, events, and guests. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, along with a strong commitment to excellence, teamwork, and service.

Essential Job Functions

Building Maintenance & Operations

• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify issues, safety concerns, and areas for improvement
• Perform and manage routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
• Assist Facilities Director in implementing preventative maintenance schedules to ensure efficient operation of equipment and systems
• Monitor and maintain building automation systems, when applicable
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Assist the Facilities Director in coordinating contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, installations, or inspections
• Oversee contracted work as it’s being done and inspect for accuracy prior to payment of contracted work
• Recruit and train facility volunteers and contractors

Safety & Security

• Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain emergency preparedness plans
• Ensure all work complies with church policies, building codes, and safety standards including ADA compliance, fire, police and health inspectors
• Assist in managing key/card access systems and security cameras

Event & Ministry Support

• Support setup and teardown for church services, events, and ministry activities as required
• Coordinate facility, A/V, and tech support scheduling to avoid conflicts

Other

• Maintain clean, organized mechanical rooms, work areas, and storage spaces
• Participate in an on-call rotation for facility emergencies
• Ability and willingness to work on weekends and after hours at a multi-site organization

Education & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities work, or a related trade
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems including troubleshooting and basic repairs (commercial facility experience preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical diagrams
• Basic carpentry and general maintenance skills are a plus
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, carrying equipment, and extended walking
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-service-oriented approach
