Facilities Support Technician (St. Clairsville, OH Neighborhood Hospital)

Job Summary

This role is responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior of the hospital, including general groundskeeping duties outside the scope of the landscaping contract. Preferred experience includes HVAC and electrical work. The Facilities Support Tech will also perform some Environmental Services (EVS) duties as described below.

Facilities Duties:

  • Respond to corrective maintenance requests
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and life safety standards
  • Maintain general grounds such as parking lots, driveways, and exterior trash management
  • Maintain structures on the property other than the hospital building
  • Serve as backup security during day shifts

EVS Duties:

  • Manage waste including regular, biohazard, and hazardous waste
  • Secure soiled linens
  • Perform duties of EVS Tech II

Security Duties:

  • Act as Security Officer during dayshift hours (Monday-Friday)
  • Conduct initial investigations and follow-up on security incidents, documenting findings in reports
  • Complete required training such as de-escalation, defensive tactics, non-lethal weapons, and computer skills
  • De-escalate and maintain control in security and workplace violence situations

Time Allocation:

  • Facilities/Maintenance: 4-6 hours daily or 20-30 hours weekly, depending on workload; up to 35 hours/week at peak
  • EVS: 3-4 hours daily
  • Security: 40 hours/week on an as-needed basis
