Job summary

Retina Consultants of Texas seeks a Facilities Support Specialist to maintain all clinical and administrative spaces, patching, painting and repairing as needed. You will respond to facility requests, inspect sites regularly and coordinate with vendors for buildouts and upgrades.

You will travel between Houston and San Antonio locations, support HVAC and general maintenance, and contribute to a safe, clean practice environment with competitive benefits after a 60-day introductory period.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in facilities management across electrical, plumbing and flooring
  • HVAC experience preferred
  • Ability to read project plans and operating instructions
  • Strong English communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clinic and administrative locations including patching, painting, repairs
  • Perform routine facility and equipment maintenance
  • Process facilities requests via Helpdesk system
  • Inspect buildings, spaces and equipment regularly
  • Clean and maintain clinics and admin spaces daily
  • Support buildout projects and coordinate with vendors

Retina Consultants of Texas (RCTX) is seeking a Facilities Support Specialist to join our innovative team with the mission of Fighting Blindness For The World To See. This position is responsible for providng support for the maintenance related needs of all Retina Consultants of Texas medical buildings and facilities in Houston and San Antonio.
Retina Consultants of Texas is the largest and most respected retina-only ophthalmology practice in the United States. Our group consists of 26 world renowned physicians leading the world in retinal care. While serving two major metropolitan markets (and their extensions) our combined culture allows us to best serve our patients, referral sources and our own team of physicians. RCTX also invests heavily in diagnostic equipment, providing state-of-the-art retina imaging, laser and diagnostic capabilities to each patient. Pay Rate is $60-70k per year and is not eligible for overtime.

Responsibilities
  • Provides general and detailed maintenance of all clinic and administrative locations, including patching, painting, hardware repairs and other repair/replacement work as required.
  • Performs routine facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Completes and resolves facilities requests from the Helpdesk system.
  • Performs routine daily inspections of assigned buildings, spaces and equipment (i.e., fire extinguishers).
  • Performs general and detailed cleaning of clinic and administration spaces when needed (mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, wiping, washing, polishing and dusting all surfaces, removing trash and recycling, and cleaning restrooms, stairwells, or offices).
  • Completes all documentation for work performed in a timely manner.
  • Oversees and performs the duties associated with buildout projects, ensuring projects and breakdowns are completed on schedule.
  • Works with and updates third party vendors to resolve facilities issues.
  • Maintains an updated list of facilities management and vendor contact information.
  • Travels to all clinic locations throughout the Houston and San Antonio Texas regions
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills/Competencies:
  • Ability to use basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and custodial hand and electric powered tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to receive and respond to work assignments in both formats.
  • Strong ability to converse in the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Read, comprehend, and work from project plans and operating instructions.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population.
  • Detail orientation with a mindset towards meeting the company’s high standards for maintenance of facilities.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and including multi-tasking.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Keep computerized records and prepare reports. Access and employ job related computer software (email, work planning, time-keeping) at an effective proficiency level.
  • Works independently with limited supervision, interacting effectively with and quickly gaining the respect and support of facilities and company staff.
  • Interacts with various levels of staff, patients, guests and vendors.
Qualifications:
Education Requirements
  • High School diploma required
  • Associates or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred
Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years’ experience in multiple areas of facilities management, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, and flooring projects
  • Some experience in HVAC
  • Some experience utilizing ticketing system
Physical Abilities:
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move equipment/supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
