Job summary

DLA Careers is seeking a federally employed Support Services Specialist to join our Distribution Center team. The role oversees and coordinates a wide range of base support services, ensuring efficient operations and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include managing facilities and equipment maintenance, coordinating government-furnished services, and preparing briefings for leadership. Applicants must meet federal qualifications and be eligible for background suitability.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in management analysis or administrative policy development.
• Experience as administrative officer or assistant, including budget administration and program analysis.
• Office management experience including directing support services such as mail processing and procurement.
• Secretarial work coordinating administrative tasks and reporting.
• Military experience including responsibility for directing support functions such as communications, property management, facilities.

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates oversight of support services (utilities, telephone, custodial, refuse, pest management, environmental, police and fire, medical, mail, radio frequencies, fuel).
• Coordinates government-furnished services with multiple levels of government and contractors involved in the Distribution Center's base support structure.
• Plans and coordinates maintenance, repair, and modification of facilities and mechanized material handling equipment.
• Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the installation's structures, utilities and grounds.
• Ensures Service Provider complies with environmental regulatory requirements.
• Implements the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) for SP compliance with property and service requirements.
• Serves as Accountable Property Officer for personal property and hand receipts.
• Prepares and presents briefings to Command Staff, higher headquarters, and visitors.
